Each year the Cahaba River Society hosts a catfish cook-off and festival that's
not only good for the planet, but also the palate!
Fry-Down is a catfish cookoff and festival celebrating the Cahaba River
and benefiting Cahaba River Society.
Survey Birmingham's dynamic food scene as culinary masters, old and new,
battle it out for the top catfish cooking prizes.
The Fry-Down is the Cahaba River Society's largest fundraiser, allowing Cahaba River Society to continue its work
to restore and protect the Cahaba (Alabama’s longest remaining free flowing river) and its rich diversity of life.

Featuring river-themed activities and fun for all ages, Fry-Down is a party with a carnival-like atmosphere including live music and entertainment, delicious food, hula-hoopers, disco dancers, games, prizes, a Cahaba River Adventure Experience, photo booths, a climbing wall, craft beers and cocktails and so much more!
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to raise awareness of our amazing Cahaba River and as party in celebration of all that it provides for this community, state & country!
Tickets are $20*
and include catfish and sides from our Fry Teams.
